there’s a girl in here
she is small and she is frail, but she’s in here
she likes to write in pen, so that she never forgets her mistakes
she likes to sleep facing the wall, so that she can forget what’s hiding around her
sometimes she likes to laugh, and sometimes she likes to cry
sometimes she does both at the same time
sometimes it feels like she’s underwater
sometimes she swims up
sometimes the water lowers
sometimes she can’t reach the top, and it feels like she’s drowning
there’s a girl in here
she is real, and she feels pain
but she is strong, so strong, and she will not lose herself

even if everyone else does.
